It crashes because of a segmentation fault. There is no error message.
On Windows, there is dialog box with: The instruction at "0x1001d4c4"  
referenced memory at "0x00000000c". The memory could not be "read".

I will try to get it run on a debugger to see what happens. I'll keep you  
informed.
