Regarding the code:

This is my first project written in Java and was written in my spare time using Netbeans IDE. It uses the JavaFX graphical framework. Various aspects of the code could do with tidying up and documenting but, because I do not know when I'll have time to do this, the code has been put up as is.

I'm a geneticist/molecular biologist with no formal training in programming or computer science so I'm sure there is plenty of scope for improvement if anyone wants to get involved.

Support for other file formats (e.g. Illumina, VCF) should be a priority for additional features.
