No DYNAMIC Syslog Priority on W2K8 R2 64-Bit

Hi guys,

I'm using the current version of SNARE for Windows 4.0.1.2 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 64-Bit Standard Edition operating system.
In the “Network Configuration” I can't switch the Syslog priority to DYNAMIC.
Every time I changed and saved it, it will be switched back to Emergency after reloading the page.
If I change it back to DYNAMIC and click the "Change Configuration" button it says "Values have been changed."
But that isn't the truth.
Could you please fix this problem?

I haven't had a chance to confirm this yet, but I know the area of code that is likely to be at fault. I'll pop this on the list of patches for the next release.

The problem also occurs on Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition SP2.

I've fixed the problem with the DYNAMIC setting and the fix will be available in the next release which should be available in the next couple of weeks.

    Hi David,
I have downloaded the lastest "SnareForWindows-4.0.1.2-MultiArch" installer and after installing it I noticed that this problem still exists. Syslog priority set to DYNAMIC switches back to "Emergency". Is there a newer version that I just don't know how to get to - seems to me from this post and from the status of this bug that maybe there is and I just don't know how to find it? FWIW when I right-click on the installed snarecore.exe that was installed using the "SnareForWindows-4.0.1.2-MultiArch" installer and check the version # it still shows as 4.0.1.1.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    thx
    tony

FWIW, I am having the same experience as shared by T_P.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Solarwinds released an update for the syslog server app I license from them that now includes a collecting agent that works on Server 08 R2. So, I no longer have to use Snare.

Snare was much easier to setup, but at least now I have something that works!

About to try it on Server 2012.
