FYI - I am also using WinCDEmu 3.0 (for mounting MDS's, ect. as virtual DVD drives) on both Win XP Pro SP3 x86 & Vista Business SP2 x86. Vista is currently giving me an issue to deal with (I think because WinCDEmu 3.0 is not codesigned, Vista refuses to complete requests to create virtual drives locally, even though the WinCDEmu Virtual Bus is installed and operational [under 'SCSI and RAID controllers' in Device Manager]).
I am relatively new to SMPlayer (now using v0.6.8) and may not be implemeting correctly, however, it seems to me that when using Open > DVD from drive, I am not immediately getting the expected results. On XP, when I try to Open > DVD from drive (a local, virtual drive that is a mounted MDS file [of a MDS / ISO file pair created by ImgBurn 2.5.0.0]), SMPlayer goes through a protracted phase where it connects to 88.191.30.130:8050 (?) ... I have noticed that, eventually, SMPlayer plays the virtual drive's contents properly.
Perhaps SMPlayer had to download a codec or something to play the virtual drive contents ... should SMPlayer be able to play a virtual network drive as well? (from Vista, where the virtual network drive is hosted on an XP machine)
Thanks for setting me straight (and sorry ... if this was more of a Q. than a Feature Request). KLM
When smplayer is installed, it tries to play the internet stream http://88.191.30.130:8050 which is (or was) a radio, but it seems it's not working anymore.
I don't know why it tried to play that stream when you try to play a DVD (maybe that url is still in the playlist).
