From what I remember smplayer used to use a workaround for these but it doesn't work anymore because I'm getting the "unable to locate URL of video" when trying to play them.. I've already tried using a custom user agent on the Youtube options to mimic google bot.. but I guess that isn't working anymore.
sorry that I didn't clarify.. we're talking about Youtube here.
have tried chaning the user agent string on browser, can confirm it no longer works for watching age restricted videos without logging in...
only workaround I have found (on browser) is to use https://www.youtube.com/embed/<videoid> </videoid>
If you select "mpv + youtube-dl" in preferences -> network -> support for video sites, it should work.
