The attached example is of a playlist. This bug occurs when opening a file when another is playing, stopping (and therefore unloading) a file, and many more situations when the tack is stopped or changed.

Platform: Windows 8 with smplayer-mpv 14.9.0.6503.

No settings have been modified.
I selected the verbose log option under "Advanced" but the logs appear to be binary-equal.

Could you send the smplayer log? (Options -> View logs).

Certainly, the file is attached. (this is a different case, but with the same files)

According to the log smplayer sends the quit command to mpv. But it seems mpv doesn't quit. smplayer waits 1 second and then it kills the process.

There's an option (time_to_kill_mplayer) in smplayer.ini which sets the time to wait before killing the process. By default it's set to 1000 (ms).
Could you try to increase that time (maybe to 5000) to give mpv a little more time to quit?

It just took longer to crash this time around, I think.

Logs attached. By the way, I love the copy and save buttons on the SMPlayer logs. Would be nice if they were added to crash logs too.

This really sounds like a bug in mpv. I can't reproduce it in my computer but I don't use Windows 8, so maybe it only affects Windows 8.

Could you test with another mpv build from http://mpv.srsfckn.biz ?

Just tried it, it worked flawlessly with mpv-x86_64-latest.7z (I downloaded this on today on 2014-12-07).

Then I tried it with the 32-bit version (i686 architecture) and it had the same issues as before! So I don't know if this is a problem with mpv or SMPlayer, but it seems to be affected by the fact I'm running an i686 program on an x64 platform. I hope this information is useful. If you or the mpv developers cannot diagnose the issue, please consider distributing both 32- and 64-bit versions of SMPlayer.
