Whenever SMPlayer tries to play a WMV file, it sends mplayer2 a wrong "-vid 2" option that causes it to fail with "No stream found". If I run mplayer2 with the same options minus "-vid 2" (and "-wid..."), it runs smoothly.

Disable the option "Remember settings for all files" in preferences -> general and try again.
