Greetings! I know it's been a long time since anything has happened with the SMP Project. And that's my fault. I've completed my move (mostly, I still don't have most of my stuff) and classes are starting to finish up (finals are done on the 7th!). So, I plan on getting things going again. I'm settling in on a new computer system, so It might still be a while before I have everything back on here, but on the plus side it give me a windows (ick) machine to look at the results in (it dual boots). I have also been asked to write once a month on the projects and my views for the Open Source Schools site (http://www.opensourceshools.com). I've also been contacted by several projects on merging efforts and code. After some serious consideration I have decided to keep SMP as a individual project. Each of the other projects goals differs slightly from what I'm aiming for. I hope that in the future we all have successful code bases. One of the more useful e-mails I have received pointed me at the SIF web site (http://www.sifinfo.org) which is a standard for school interoperability. I plan to review this site and do my best to make SMP meet it's standards. Though at this point that may require a bit of redesign in the naming of the database fields. Well, that's it for now. I wanted to let you know what's going on and that things will actually start going on soon! - AMW - Andreas Welch _ amw...@ya... . .
