How embarrassing! I didn't even know about SmcJarWrapper.java. When I use ant with SMC, I write an smc-compile target rule and pass in -java7 in the <arg> entity.
I will update this in the next release.

I have uploaded a new smc-ant.jar to the files smc/6_6_0 folder. This jar supports the -java7 option.
That's great! Thank you for this great project. I use SMC to add business logic to a Netty handler and it just makes sense.™
