I have just installed a new F17 system as my other PC has had to go to the repair shop. I have installed all the Samba stuff and smbclient runs OK and shows my windows shares, however SMB4K (1.0.2) does not find anything at all, scan network shows nothing and returns almost instantly. I'm sure I've forgotten something but for the life of me I cannot think what.
Any suggestions gratefully received....

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
querying MSBROWSE on 192.168.0.255
name_query failed to find name MSBROWSE#01
So where do I go from here? I'm sure its something I've done/not done as my other PC worked immediately (although its in the repair shop right now so I cannot check settings).

What does the command
return? It sounds like Smb4K is not able to find the workgroup's master browser...
I'll give it a go. The Linux PC is taking over as master which shows up in smbclient output but I'll give the nmblookup a go and get back.

The nmblookup shows

I am such an idiot..... I had forgotten the firewall.
Extremely sorry to have troubled you......

That's absolutely no problem!
