Security: Logic flaw in mount helper binary found

A logic flaw was found in Smb4K's mount helper binary. Patches that fix this issue are available for the latest KDE4 and KF5 version. All users are strongly advised to patch their installations! For further information, please read the security advisory of the KDE security team.

Smb4K uses KDE Bugtracking System

Smb4K has been added to the KDE Bugtracking System. You can now report any issues you find via the KDE Bugtracking System entry in the menu. The "Tickets" menu entry has been removed and all open tickets were moved to the KDE Bugtracking System.

The smb4k-bugs mailing list remains open until support of those version of Smb4K that use that address for reporting bugs ended.

Browsing the network neighborhood broken after Samba security update

After the updates to Samba on April, 12th, many users could not browse the network neighborhood anymore. There is a discussion about this in our help forum providing a workaround from bugzilla.samba.org.

Smb4K 1.2.0 reuploaded

Due to the problems that arose because of the change to CMake 2.8 as minimum required version, I decided to reupload Smb4K 1.2.0 with a fixed build system. In addition, the tarball now includes the up-to-date translations.

Smb4K 1.2.0 does not build

Due to the change to CMake 2.8 as minimum required version, Smb4K does not build due to several custom targets with the same name. The error message(s) look(s) similar to this one:

Smb4K 1.2.0 released

The Smb4K team is proud to annouce the immediate availabiliy of Smb4K 1.2.0, the next major release of our
advanced network neighborhood browser and Samba share mounting utility for KDE.

The most prominent changes include the support of NetBSD, the introduction of profiles, the inclusion
of even more mount options under Linux and the support of Samba 4.
