I'd like to install smb4k in Centos 7, but I can't find the rpm package
(no yum install smb4k)
1) Are you able to point me how to install it? Google appears to not
know the answer.
2) Is there any reason for smb4k not being delivered in Centos / RHEL as
it is for Fedora?
By the way, I have already posted the same question to Centos forums,
but they replied that they have no idea !
I also tried to install from sources but it did not work. I am probably
missing some skills for that. a pointing to a working tutorial will be
appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the help

For up-to-date packages of Smb4K please contact the package maintainer of Smb4K of your distribution. We do not provide packages.
For the installation from sources please refer to our wiki. I strongly recommend to use checkinstall for installation. If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to drop a note.
RHEL 7 does not have checkinstall. Checkinstall nowadays appears to be abandonware. I also had difficulties installing it from sources.
As I said, I tried to install from sources according to your wiki but I was not successful.
I suppose the problem may be related to dependencies, but I had some difficulties trying to figure out from your wiki pages. Browsing inside Fedora rpm packages, I see lots of dependencies.
Is it possible for you to post a full list of dependencies?

The successfully configure, compile and install Smb4K, you need
Additionally, you need the runtime dependencies, i. e. Samba, kde-runtime and, optionally, Rsync.
I hope, this helps. If compilation still does not work, please post the error message here, so I can figure out what's wrong.
