    Good afternoon,
due to an old server I need access with smb-version 1.0 on this server. Therefore I activated smb-protocol 1.0 in smb4k preferences.
All the other machines in the "neighborhood" are mostly up-to date linux machines using smb protocol 3.x. One of these rejected access which in principle I find useful due to security reasons.
    Long story short question:
How can I use different smb protocol versions? What key and value do I have to write in "custom_options.xml" to have different access protocols to the different machines?
    Regards Stefan

You can use the custom options dialog to set the protocol version individually for a certain server. Go to the network browser, right click on the server that needs SMB protocol version 1, choose Custom Options from the context menu and set the SMB protocol version for mounting on the Advanced Mount Settings tab of the Custom Options dialog:

This way, you can leave the global setting at its default value.

    Hallo Alexander,
thanks for your help. But I do not get the above mentioned screen.
I´m using smb4k in version 3.0.4 as it is in the repository of my kubuntu. Could that be the problem?
I have only my mounted folders under the widget "Mounted Shares", the Network Neighborhood is empty even if I have mounted shares with access to them. All other machines are linux machines.
Under Settings/Configure smb4k/Custom Options I have on the left all my bookmarked Shares. With a right click on one of these I can edit the settings for this share but there is no possibility to set the protocol. Under samba tab there are only settings for SMB port and Authentication:

    Any idea?
    Regards Stefan

Judging by the version, you are using Kubuntu 20.04 LTS, right?

With Smb4K 3.0.x it is not possible to set the SMB protocol for mounting separately for each server, because this feature was only implemented in Smb4K 3.1.x. However, you could upgrade your version of Smb4K with the package(s) provided here. It would also allow you to browse the network neighborhood using DNS-SD and WS-Discovery.

If you decide to upgrade, please back up your custom_options.xml file first, since it will be altered in an incompatible way by Smb4K 3.1.x.

Thats right! I'm using 20.04 LTS.
Thanks for your help and clarification.
I will go for an update to Jammy Jellyfish shortly. Hopefully that solves this issue either.
Otherwise I will go for the packages you provided.
    Regards Stefan
