    Hi there,

I use SMB4K 2.1.x on Manjaro KDE 17 and my questions is about the default behavior of SMB4K which I am not sure about it.

    The situation:
    (1) I can mount and unmount Samba shares within SMB4K flawlessly.
    (2) I can connect to Samba shares within Dolphin flawlessly

    The problem:
When I mount a Samba share within SMB4K I see and can access this share in Dolphin via the Places Tab. When I right-click on the Samba share in the Places Tab then an unmount option is offered. When I click “unmount” Dolphin throws an error stating that I miss permissions to unmount. In contrasts to that, umounting the Samba share in SMB4K works flawlessly.

    The question:
Is this the default behavior of SMB4K mounted shares that I cannot unmount them within Dolhin? If so, is there a way to change the behavior that I am allowed to unmount them in Dolphin, too?

Thanks in advance for a hint,
    topi

Sorry for this very late response. Unfortunately, I did not have the time before to answer your post.

I am not familiar with the unmount feature of Dolphin, but Smb4K mounts the shares with root previleges (wia the KAuth framework). Maybe that't why you do not have the permission to unmount the shares.

To answer your question, I would need to test this and that would mean to install Manjaro. However, I do not have enough time to do it in the near future. :(

Have you already found a solution?
