Hi Guys! Me again ;) Sorry this will be a little off topic but i think it's worth a mail because u working with harddrives all the time and maybe have an idea what can i do with this. So i bought a brand new 200gb Seagate SATA II drive and a sata "raid" card SIL 3112, i tried it with 2.6.15 and the lastest kernel too but there is a problem when a huge transfer started: kernel: ata1: no sense translation for status: 0x51 kernel: ata1: translated ATA stat/err 0x51/00 to SCSI SK/ASC/ASCQ 0x3/11/04 kernel: ata1: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } kernel: ata1: no sense translation for status: 0x51 kernel: ata1: translated ATA stat/err 0x51/00 to SCSI SK/ASC/ASCQ 0x3/11/04 kernel: ata1: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } kernel: ata1: no sense translation for status: 0x51 kernel: ata1: translated ATA stat/err 0x51/00 to SCSI SK/ASC/ASCQ 0x3/11/04 kernel: ata1: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } kernel: ata1: no sense translation for status: 0x51 kernel: ata1: translated ATA stat/err 0x51/00 to SCSI SK/ASC/ASCQ 0x3/11/04 kernel: ata1: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } kernel: ata1: no sense translation for status: 0x51 kernel: ata1: translated ATA stat/err 0x51/00 to SCSI SK/ASC/ASCQ 0x3/11/04 kernel: ata1: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } kernel: ata1: no sense translation for status: 0x51 kernel: ata1: translated ATA stat/err 0x51/00 to SCSI SK/ASC/ASCQ 0x3/11/04 kernel: ata1: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } kernel: sd 0:0:0:0: SCSI error: return code = 0x8000002 kernel: sda: Current: sense key=0x3 kernel: ASC=0x11 ASCQ=0x4 kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 10627344 It never happens if i just use my computer and do slower copies for example from an ide drive to sata, you can see the problem only up when transfer rate goes high and this happens when 1 start a badblocks or try to dd a file to disk. But smartctl always send me the "sector pending" letters and I'm scared because not long ago i have got a brutal mass raid crash and lots of my data lost :( Of course this pissed off me because in winsuxx works fine. -What can I do with this ? -Which component cause the problem? -Is there somewhere else where I can write this?
