[smartmontools-support]smartctl makes servers down..

Hello, all.

I have read this docments well 
(http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/smartmontools_scsi.html)
and I installed, executed like below.

./smartctl -H /dev/sda

some servers works well and it was good for me.

But some servers down when I execute above command.
So I have to reboot the system.
(The system is RAID which ADAPTEC scsi)
20 servers works well, and 2 servers down...

smartctl doesn't work well?
So how can I solve this problem?
