Helo All Thanks for taking time to read my e-mail .... I have one quick question on implementing smartd on my Compaq Proliant6500 server. I am a little confused on defining devices that I need to monitoring turned on ? My server has 4 SCSI drives all formatted using LVM & so the OS(Fedora core2) cannot identify these devices as SCSI or not , Can anyone suggest what I should be listing in the smartd.conf file so when I boot up or run the smartmon tools, I would no longer get the following errors ? Jan 25 15:37:37 marx smartd[1329]: Opened configuration file /etc/smartd.conf Jan 25 15:37:37 marx smartd[1329]: Configuration file /etc/smartd.conf parsed but has no entries (like /dev/hda) Jan 25 15:37:37 marx smartd[1329]: Unable to monitor any SMART enabled devices. Exiting... Thank you all again for any help Praveen .
