Hi there. As there is still smartmontools 5.32 in the Ports Collection of FreeBSD=20 i decided to check out 5.33 from your Homepage and give it a try. Works much better right now but still fails with some commands. Anyway, the most important information can finally be gained correctly:=20 Temperature :) In case your are wondering about the low temperature the machine is=20 running in an unheated room next door with quite bad isolation and being=20 winter here it's getting quite cold over there (but i don't believe=20 temperature will drop below 0=B0C). It'll be getting more interesting during summer when temperature will=20 rise up to 35=B0C as the room is located directly under our rooftop. One more remark about smartmontools-5.33: it's giving me a build error=20 when trying to make the manpages. However, smartctl an smartd are built correctly. Guess i'm sending a mail to the port maintainer too... Attached you'll find output from the build and from smartctl -a da0. Greetings and a nice third advent. Jochen Keil (There are some warnings in os_freebsd.c which will go away when=20 compiling without -O2. Up to there everything works smooth) if gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.=20 -DSMARTMONTOOLS_SYSCONFDIR=3D\"/usr/local/etc\" -g -O2 -Wall -W -MT=20 os_freebsd.o -MD -MP -MF ".deps/os_freebsd.Tpo" -c -o os_freebsd.o=20 `test -f 'os_freebsd.c' || echo './'`os_freebsd.c; then mv -f=20 ".deps/os_freebsd.Tpo" ".deps/os_freebsd.Po"; else rm -f=20 ".deps/os_freebsd.Tpo"; exit 1; fi os_freebsd.c:702: warning: unused parameter 'name' os_freebsd.c:486: warning: unused parameter 'escalade_type' os_freebsd.c:219: warning: unused parameter 'fd' os_freebsd.c:219: warning: unused parameter 'command' os_freebsd.c:219: warning: unused parameter 'select' os_freebsd.c:219: warning: unused parameter 'data' os_freebsd.c:82: warning: unused parameter 'mode' gcc -g -O2 -Wall -W -o smartd smartd.o atacmdnames.o atacmds.o=20 ataprint.o knowndrives.o scsicmds.o scsiprint.o utility.o os_freebsd.o=20 -lcam if gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.=20 -DSMARTMONTOOLS_SYSCONFDIR=3D\"/usr/local/etc\" -g -O2 -Wall -W -MT=20 smartctl.o -MD -MP -MF ".deps/smartctl.Tpo" -c -o smartctl.o `test -f=20 'smartctl.c' || echo './'`smartctl.c; then mv -f ".deps/smartctl.Tpo"=20 ".deps/smartctl.Po"; else rm -f ".deps/smartctl.Tpo"; exit 1; fi gcc -g -O2 -Wall -W -o smartctl smartctl.o atacmdnames.o atacmds.o=20 ataprint.o knowndrives.o scsicmds.o scsiprint.o utility.o os_freebsd.o=20 -lcam make: don't know how to make smartd.conf.5.
