I've actually just updated the patch, at: http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/3w-xxxx.txt so that it will apply (without warnings/complaints) exactly to the official 3ware distributed 1.02.00.036 driver. The previous patch worked fine (and had identical content) but complainted that the line numbers were off by 15 lines. I know that many people are using this patch and have heard no complaints.
