Hello, first I must say that I tought the Prefailure Attributes can only become worse and not better? Here my are the smartd messages: Jul 14 15:26:31 [smartd] Device: /dev/hdb, SMART Prefailure Attribute: 1 Raw_Read_Error_Rate changed from 73 to 72_ Jul 14 15:56:52 [smartd] Device: /dev/hdb, SMART Prefailure Attribute: 1 Raw_Read_Error_Rate changed from 72 to 73_ Jul 14 16:27:13 [smartd] Device: /dev/hdb, SMART Prefailure Attribute: 1 Raw_Read_Error_Rate changed from 73 to 74_ The values are changing mostly between 72-74, somethimes up to 76. Is this behavior normal on this kind of disk? It's a Seagate ST340810A (I append the smartctl output). Or it is a sign that the disk is about to die (not tomorrow, but slowly)?
