Hello, I looked at smartmontools' os_win32.cpp sources and saw that there is a DEVICESCAN implementation which can detect some non-trivial stuff (like 3ware controllers). IIRC, the functionality is available only in smartd, but not in smartctl, right? Are there any plans on exposing it in smartctl? For example, an option (say, --scan) would print something like Under win32: pd0 ata sda,0 3ware sda,1 3ware (The first line being an ordinary drive, the second and third - 2 drives on 3ware controllers). I'm not sure about the second column - I guess it should specify something that would be given to "-d" parameter, so in this case it would be "auto". For linux, it would be: /dev/sda auto /dev/twa0 3ware,0 /dev/twa0 3ware,1 The format could be different, of course. What do you think? Thanks, Alexander |
