I was using smartd on RHEL5 with the following /etc/smartd.conf DEVICESCAN -H -d scsi -M diminishing -m root@localhost.localdomain This scans disks /dev/sd[a-z] but I have many more. Right now the only way I can find to have it work is to explicitly list all the /dev/sda[a-z] etc. I tried listing "all possible disks" but it fails and stops if one lists disks which don't exists. Is there any way to have it scan all the existing /dec/sd[a-z] and /dev/sd[a-z][a-z] devices?
