#25 Darker background hard to read

With the new darker background, it becomes difficult to
read dropdown and label text.

I should point out that the new white drop-downs do show up
with high contrast, but don't really solve the problem. They
kinda look bad against the dark grey background, and the
labels and other buttons are still hard to read.
