Attached is a patch that allows the moderator to set
the maximum
threshold level when viewing and moderating comments.
The max
threshold level dropdown listbox is only visible in
moderator mode.
The value is not saved as a user value and always
defaults to
$constants->{comment_maxscore}.
After a brief conversation with Rob, he suggested I
submit the idea
as a patch here. here goes.
The motivation:
I like to be "fair" when moderating, meaning:
I put the threshold level down to 1 or 2 and list
everything as
nested. I pay more attention to posts at level 1 and 2.
I'd guess the approach isn't uncommon.
The problem:
one ends up seeing *all* posts >= minlevel. If a max
threshold
could be set, it'd be practical for moderation and
would "lift"
more good posts up out of the "depths of level 2".
The patch:
makes it possible to set a max threshold. only in
moderator mode.
It won't have any visible effect for the wider
audience. The max threshold is a one time form variable
that isn't saved as user value or cookie or whatever.
