hi,all I delete the "#" on this line #PerlPostReadRequestHandler Slash::Apache::ProxyRemoteAddr but still have error. I need change my apache configure ? and why when use https protocol ,all is ok.when use https,the browser between the squid server is https connect, between the squid server and real apache server is http connect. so,I think the apache can't see difference between https and http. so strange! 2006/4/28, shane <sh...@lo...>: > > On Apr 27, 2006, at 8:30 AM, huang mingyou wrote: > > > hi,shane > > > > this is the squid.conf filter rule > > acl QUERY urlpath_regex cgi-bin blog bbs forum \.php \.asp \.pl > > \.jsp \? \.cgi > > and,you can use this URI to test > > http://slash.vmmatrix.net > > > > 2006/4/27, shane <sh...@lo...>: > >> > >> On Apr 27, 2006, at 7:18 AM, huang mingyou wrote: > >> > >>> hi ,list > >>> our slash site behind some squid server that run in accelerate > >>> mode,and in the squid configure file I had filter some URI that > >>> include *.pl .but I can't register no user ,but if I use htps ,will > >>> ok.the error message is that > >>> maybe I behind firewall or proxy. > >>> how to solution this problem ? > >>> > >>> -- > >>> --------- > >>> HMY > >> > >> It'd probably be helpful if you could post your squid.conf's > >> somewhere and give us a URL to see exactly how you've got it > >> configured. > >> > >> Shane > > When I hit http://slash.vmmatrix.net/login.pl?op=3Dnewuserform > and filled the form in I got > > Invalid form key: uu9agfrxIQ > > do you have the slashd daemon running? formkeys expire, and the > slashd daemon is what kicks off the task that expires them. > > What's interesting is that I did the test again - hit that url, but > before i hit submit I looked at the html source. OSTG guys - why is sections.pl even included anymore? HMY, the solution is to 1) create a topic-nexus 2) add a skin by hand, by doing a sql_insert, that links the skin with that topic-nexus 3) restart httpd. Shane |

Has anyone who is running a section-topics website (ie, with skins, css, etc) tried assigning a different top level domain to a skin and had it work OK? As far as I know, all the stock code is setup such that it could handle this. The benefits, as we see it, are a quick way to create a (possibly, probably) related slash-based website to an existing established website. Obviously, you'd have to set the cookiedomain for the new site's skin, and setup the site's httpd.conf such that it'd recognize the new tld. I'm hoping someone's tried this and can say "yea it works". Anyone? Shane |

I think once you do the above updates, then when a user edits his
prefs the only method they can choose from to receive an update for
either of those two message types will be 'email'.

I would do
update users_messages set mode=0 where code in (5,7);
that will change anyone who already has it set.
as for creating entries for any users that do not have an try for
either code 5, or 7, you would do best to write some perl code to do
that.
you could probably do it with a few lines of Slash::Test somethin
like this (don't run this, not complete, not tested, I don't have
time at the moment for this, but it should get you looking in the
right direction)
#!/usr/bin/perl -w
use strict;
use Slash::Test shift;
my $messages = getObject('Slash::Messages');
my @users = $slashdb->sqlSelectAll('uid','users');
foreach my $uid (@users) {
my %params;
$params{MSG_CODE_JOURNAL_REPLY()} = MSG_MODE_EMAIL();
$params{MSG_CODE_JOURNAL_FRIEND()} = MSG_MODE_EMAIL();
$messages->setPrefs($uid, \%params);
}

Hi list, Here's what I want to do: change the setting of all my users and the default setting for "Journal Entry by Friend" and "Journal Reply" to 'email' by default. Slash uses standard perl modules (ie Mail::Sendmail ) to do it's emailing. So readup on it http://search.cpan.org/~mivkovic/Mail-Sendmail-0.79/ Sendmail.pm and then you can probably look at the sub sendEmail code w/in slash and figure out how to make it do what you require it to do: http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/slashcode/slash/Slash/Utility/ System/System.pm?rev=1.34&view=auto Shane On Mar 16, 2006, at 7:48 AM, Daniel Fishman wrote: > I'm running 2.2.6 (upgrading soon I SWEAR) but I need to start > using an > external mail server, which will only allow me to send through it if I > do SMTP auth, which means I need a place to send username/password. > Anyone done this yet? > > Thanks, > > Dan > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting > language > that extends applications into web and mobile media. Hi all, Has anyone out there looked into using Apache authentication for userid/password validation? Or using mod_auth_mysql against the Slash database? Any other approaches? Our organization has several web applications. I really need to figure out a single signon capability. We use TWiki and Slash along with some static protection on e-mail list archives, etc. I've written up an external script that can synchronize all the ids and passwords. But one password change through the web interface and confusion results. Thanks, George Clark |

I'm running 2.2.6 (upgrading soon I SWEAR) but I need to start using an external mail server, which will only allow me to send through it if I do SMTP auth, which means I need a place to send username/password. Anyone done this yet? Thanks, Dan |

Don't forget - if you update/upgrade your slash installation, you =20 will overwrite your changes to MySQL.pm. Generally, you have your src cvs-checkout/tarball/zip of the slash =20 src. Let's say that's in /usr/local/src/slash. When you install slashcode, you cd /usr/local/src/slash make make install So what you'll want to do is modify the src. Generally, you make your =20= changes, diff the file, and save that diff off somewhere for safe =20 keeping. If you upgrade slashcode on your machine, you maybe apply to =20= apply your patch to the slash sourcecode at that point, giving you =20 the alternative behavior you mod'd for. Since slashcode uses mod_perl, like Blake said, if you modify a perl =20 module, you'll have to restart httpd and slashd before you would see =20 the change.
