Please add a new user field:

journal_threshold

the idea being that when you are reading a friend's journal, that has
comments, it would show the comments using *that* threshhold, not your
normal threshold.

I generally go with a 4 or 5 threshold for most stories, unless I'm
moderating.

But friend's journals tend to get less comments, and the comments that
are in there are generally <4. I find I'm constantly changing the threshold
when reading friend's journals inorder to see all the posts.

    This seems like a good point... I don't think we'll do it before the moderation
    rewrite but let's think about what the differences are between "sitewide story
    with 500 comments" and "friend's personal journal entry with 10 comments" and
    how readers might want to distinguish their thresholds without having to reset
    preferences.
