I'm pretty sure this is a bug because it started unexpectedly some months ago and still continues. I used to have a lot of moderation points and meta-moderation requests but all of a sudden /. stopped providing me such facilities. My karma is "excellent" so I can't believe I did something wrong to be denied such an important feature for Slashdot.

Please, look into it.

Kensai7: Yeah, it's weird. You would think registered /. addicts (I am one!) would get these moderations. Oh well. I think it was Malda who told me that years ago when I asked why I couldn't moderate anymore. :(

Generally the consensus is this is a result of being meta-moderated as unfair. So if you dont subscribe to the groupthink, there goes your moderation privledges.

ovrlrdq, if this thing you say is true then the current mechanism is ridiculous and has to be changed. I understand that someone might get "punished" for not agreeing with other moderators regarding the fareness of his/her actions, but I've been stripped of my mod/meta-mod points for more than a year now.

And my karma was and still is excellent. Come on, Slashdot admins, fix this!

I was about to submit the same issue - my Slashdot account ("trampel") has positive Karma, is "willing to moderate", and I used to get moderation points about every other week. However, I haven't seen any moderation points for at least half a year (could be a full year).

I'm not aware of having been meta-moderated as unfair.

I noticed in my Profile that one of my "Achievements" is that I 'Spent All My Mod Points'... So is this the culprit for not moderating and metamoderating?

Will it ever go off or am I stuck to not having a say anymore...?!

When will I have some Slashdot love again myself?! Ok, maybe I've spent all my moderation/meta-moderation points somehow, but shouldn't they regenerate after almost 2 years without contributing to the quality of what I read?!
