I've tried several times to submit an article to the new submission page with Firefox and with Chrome with no luck.
1. When I preview the entry it returns the error "Please enter a reasonable subject."; the subject line says "Listen To The Moon Play". If that's unreasonable we need an explanation of why. It's accurate-- it's about a page that creates music from the SELENE lunar orbiter data.
2. It also says "You've provided an incorrectly formatted url. Make sure your url begins with a scheme (http:// or https://\).". The URL is copied directly out of the address bar in another tab. I've pasted it into a different browser and gotten there. Here: http://www.pinktentacle.com/2009/08/moonbell-lunar-music-generator/ submitted with and without parentheses, and on a line of its own
3. It's be nice if the 'sections' input box was a pull down so we'd know what's allowed rather than having to guess. It gives suggestions but most don;t correspond to an acceptable section That provided an error mesage also until I figured out what it wanted. A new user would rarely guess right.
The new form is badly broke and lacking in basic guidance for the user
I had some problems today too with the submission process.
It was a bit confusing as to what I should put in the URL field, particularly since the instructions state "and include relevant links in your story."
When I hover over the word "submission" at the bottom, it gains a green background, but why? And what do I put in that blank field next to it?
Once I previewed, there was an alert that says "Please tag your submission with something to help us stay organized.", but no indication of how or where to do that.
Also, when I typed the submission, the title looked fine, but the final product in the firehose has a truncated title. It would be good to indicate when this will happen.
(thanks as always for the best website evar.)
