Problem 1: I normally browse slashdot with guest access. Lately the format/layout of the page changes randomly from what seems to be the basic layout and then the beta index layout. Is this by design?
Problem 2: I made an account to get around problem one via preferences. I was testing preferences and set my page to use simple design. As soon as I did that I could no longer change my preferences. I just get a gray box where the settings would be. I had to download firefox in order to get it to work correctly. I use Vista/IE7, 1280x1024. (See screenshot1).
Problem 3: After resetting my display I went into the prefs again and found that animated banners on the page before the prefs screen end up overlapping the prefs screen itself. (See Screenshot2).

Similar problems on SeaMonkey 1.1.12 on Mac OS X 10.4.11, 1280x800 resolution. I can get my old user page back by forcing display with users.pl rather than users2.pl, which seems to be the new default (i.e., manually entering "http://slashdot.org/users.pl" in the URL bar) but the preferences links are still essentially broken. All I want is my old user page and preferences back! Please fix this.
