Users on slashdot.org who were asked to participate in an experimental commenting system, organized by the University of Michigan, are unable to see or use the new "Discussion2" commenting system.
For evidence of users experiencing this problem, see this comment and its children:

The users can, under their preferences (comments section), switch between "Normal" and "University of Michigan Testing". However in neither mode does a checkbox for "Discussion2" appear on article pages when logged in.
(Note: As far as I can tell, the Univesity of Michigan Testing comment mode is *not* the same thing as the Discussion2 mode.)

The "discussion style" on the preference page lists either "Normal" or "University of Michigan Testing" as an option. This sets the "discussion2" field to either "none" or "uofm" respectively.
I'm assuming there should be a 3rd option that sets the "discussion2" field to whatever it should be to enable discussion2.
