[Skipper-users] Problems with paratest

Hi,

I'm building a switchbox for my son, and I've got to the point of running
paratest, and according to the documentation I should have a row of zeros.
However, on two different laptops (IBM 760ED and Toshiba Satellite Pro
6100), I'm getting 10001011 - even before I plug in the switchbox! I've
tried it with and without the lp module (though I'm guessing lp shouldn't
be needed, since paratest is addressing the port directly). Any hints on
what I should be checking, or is this a sign that these two laptops (like
Compaqs) have... "issues" with the parallel port?
