Skim is a PDF reader and note-taker for OS X. It is designed to help you read and annotate scientific papers in PDF, but is a great application to read and view any PDF file.

Skim is free and open-source. It is under active development by a small group of volunteer contributors and more are always welcome.

System Requirements

The current release of Skim requires OS X version 10.13 or higher.

The latest versions running on older Mac OS X versions are as follows:

OS X 10.10, 10.11, 10.12	1.6.21
Mac OS X 10.7, 10.8, 10.9	1.5.13
Mac OS X 10.6	1.4.41
Mac OS X 10.5	1.3.22
Mac OS X 10.4	1.2.7

For PPC devices, Skim version 1.3.7 and higher seem to run into an unresolved system bug.
