Request: I would like to have the 'Note type' tools in the main menu.
I would like to create my own shortcuts for the 'Note type' in the MacOS systems settings. But it is not possible because they are placed in a submenu. I use Skim while touchtyping, which would be easier with the shortcuts.

It would become a far too big, basically unusuable menu
Moroever, this is possible, there is no restriction about submenus in custom shortcuts, they just work there.
Wauv, thank you for your quick reply, and your hint. That made me research again. You are of course right.
The syntax should be as follow, with complete path: 'Tools->Note Type->Text Note'.
Some sources mention that spaces are not allowed, using this syntax: 'Tools->Note-Type->Text-Note', but this does not work for me.
Thank you.

Actually, you can just use the title like Text Note. However the space is allowed and necessary. I did not even know abuot the (somewhat newer) path syntax use till now. It would be necessary if the title was ambiguous (e.g. if we would add the note table header menu to the main menu, which I am doing in another app), but AFAIK that is not the case with this title.
