Hi. I am having trouble with Skim on a M2 Macbook Air. I use it to make notes at sheet music. Before, when I worked with a 2016 Intel MacBook Pro, there was absolutely no errors. With the m2 Skim is very lagguish, sometimes even hanging when moving a simple circle. The Activty Monitor shows only between 0,7 and 2 percent of system use.
Are there problems with m2 chipset?
Thank oy in Advance
I have no idea, and unfortunately I also have no way to test.
Can you make a sample of Skim when it is being sluggish? You can make a sample using Activity Monitor.
It does look to be a problem with PDFKit on an M2, as I see several complaints about problems with Preview on M2. There is probably no chance we can fix this. This is more a bug for Apple to fix (and to be reported to).
Is this behaving better in 1.7.7?
Yes, I am using 1.7.7. When I compress a PDF things get better, with almost no freezes. I have the problem with small PDFs, not necessarily huge files. In Preview there is no trouble at all with all files, even without compression.
Attached are the sample and a screenshot f it when hanging.
Thank you! Best regards
So are you saying it is not behaving better in 1.7.7, or is it?
I don't see much in the sample. It just seems to be waiting for events, nothing much else, it is not doing anything at all.
So I don't see anything I could do.
Its not working better in 1.7.7. Sorry for the confusion.
I dont know if I got the sample in a right way, never did it before. If I
made an error with the sample I can do a new.
Meanwhile I will be compressing files, seems to work for the moment.
Thank you in advance! Its an amazing software.

The sample was taking with Skim just being idle. So that shows absolutely nothing. It should be taken when it hangs or is otherwise too slow. For the rest I have absolutely no useful information, so tyhere is nothing I can do.
