the package I got from there could easily be backported
and runs now on my Debian Sarge ppc.

I have also meanwhile added a news about you being the new maintainer
to www.skencil.org (will appear with next automatic webpage update).

Any idea about when the upload to backports will happen.
It seems to be pretty straigtforward to do.
