Skeith 2.10beta2 Released

After roughly 2 months of development, the second beta of Skeith 2.10 is released upon the world!

Main changes include:
+ new session system
+ auto vhost list generation

Moving to the new session system took the most time. The page's criteria was embeded and hard coded into almost every file. Also, vhosts are now stored in a seperate file. You can just cut the <vhosts> section from config.xml to the new vhosts.xml and thats it.... read more

Skeith 2.10-beta1 released!

After a short break and lots of developing, the first beta for 2.10 is released today!

I encourage all to try it out. Even though it is beta it seems quite stable. Also, it wouldn't hurt to upgrade your configuration file to the new format. I want feedback and anything and everything.

Some may need help upgrading their configuration file. If you do, just post in the Help forum. I will be closely monitoring the forums in the next few days to help with any configuration issues or bugs.... read more

Skeith hasn't gone anywhere

After a it of a hiatus (school and such) I am back working on the next version of Skeith. My guess is that the next release will be quite major -- XML configuration, better error reporting, and multiple vhost's capable. Stay tuned everyone!!!

Upcomming: Skeith v2.02

I have been working on the next release of Skeith. I am writing this news article to inform everyone of the new features that will be in the next version.

First, there will be two new sections: Browsers and Status Codes. The Browser section will contain information regarding the name, number of hits, and bandwidth of each unique browser (ie. Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc). The Status section will contain information regarding the returned status codes of all requests. Both new sections will be optional in the configuration file -- you may turn them both on or off.... read more

Skeith mod_log_sql Analyzer: Skeith 2.0 Beta1

Skeith is a php based front end for analyzing logs for Apache using mod_log_sql.

Skeith 2.0 Beta 1 has been released!

Along with completely rewriting the code base for this release, multiple new features were added, including the following:

Users and Hosts are automatically flagged if it is believed that they may be hackers or script kiddies

Tables can be sorted via Javascript

Even though it is in beta, I believe that it is very stable. I tried to test everything before releasing it to the public. I would highly recommend upgrading as it fixes several bugs. Feel free to post to the forums if you run into a bug or question.

Upcoming Releases

I have been hard at work coding the next version of Skeith. I have completely rewrote Skeith to make it more modular and just better software.

That is way the next version of Skeith will be 2.0. That's right, I'm skipping right over 1.0 and going straight for 2! Why, you ask? Because, the next version is going to be a branch off the original project. Configuration files are not compatible from 0.XX to 2.X.... read more

Skeith 0.82 Released

Skeith 0.82 was released earlier today. It include a few bugfixes and is the first to come with some kind of basic documentation.

First thing is that PostgreSQL support has been removed. I looked more carefully into mod_log_sql today and realized that it only support MySQL. It would be pointless if Skeith supported both when mod_log_sql only supports one.

I hope that the developers are able to implement something like ODBC in the near future. This way, almost all databases are supported. If and when they do this, I will switch Skeith to support ODBC.

Skeith 0.8 Released

Skeith 0.8 has been released!

The initial version is a beta. I still have to implement postgresql and other settings. Documentation should be coming soon.
