Hello David,

  Well, I've had a chance to play with 2.0.5 a little bit now and the
  announcements are showing up on the home page nicely.  I am
  able to add a New Announcement.  However, When I select NEW
  ANNOUNCEMENT I'm presented with the edit window in the upper half of
  the screen.  It contains all the text from the current announcement. I
  can delete that text and type in whatever I want and it shows up as a
  second announcement after pressing the UPDATE button.  So, there is
  definite improvement to the behavior.  Thanks to your efforts. :)

  I'll let you know if I find anything else.
