Sins hasn't been working that well lately and there hasn't been enough developer support to keep things going. I don't see this changing. Ahminus doesn't play EQ anymore and I've played for less then an hour in the last month.

I keep trying Showeq every few months to see how things are going and I noticed they finally have most of the important user interface features that Sins has like the good spawnlist.

I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, I quickly read over the  Showeq messageboard and didn't see mention of it but Showeq no longer requires gcc 3. I figure the gcc 3 requirement was probably making a lot of people turn to Sins so here's how you can get Showeq working without gcc 3.

Edit the configure script, grep configure for "You need at least GCC" which was at line 1408 for me, at the line before it just change the NO to a YES and configure should run fine.

If you're using gcc 2.96 it will probably compile without any complaints. If you're using 2.95.x you will need to edit spelllist.cpp at lines 67, 69 and 71, replace the word "and" with "&&" instead, then it should compile.

You obviously need the correct libEQ.a which is detailed in the README.libEQ file.

    Good Luck!

All we have to say thank you. Sins did work great, better than SEQ all times. I am little sad of this of course because I know SEQ and I know why I changed to sins. SEQ was nearly dead month ago and it is not better even yet. So again: Thank you for the work u invested just for fun. U got thx and u got flames. Please dont forget: The most stupid are the most loudest. I know u have done a really great job and u know it too.

SINS is really great, I'm very sad if U don't work with it anymore. But a _really_ big thank to you from me too!
