Simplified Registration For Multiple IM / News: Recent posts

Ive been quite busy with upgrading to Linux, and its almost done. I have an wireless internet connection (whieeeeeeeeee), which was quite *** up to install... because the creators of the device only had windows drivers... lucky for me... there where drivers for my device... (tnx to the guys from www.linux-wlan.org)... I will work this week again on this.... so thursday a new update can be expected... and no I dont have a CVS connection.....yet (I hope)

Im sorry guys, no update this week. Im trying to upgrade my system to linux. But Im running against some trouble (wlan, soundcard). So Im currently occupied with the configuration of linux.

Well Guys: I Have An Internet Connection to my computer. So this means faster development!!! And ofcourse using cvs :D WOEPIEEE...

Well I've succeeded in registering with msn/hotmail/passport/whatever. For version 0.1 I dont think its important that errors will automatically be fixed. For now I will clean the code, add some comments. And start working on the ICQ plugin... After that 0.1 is almost ready, just some enhancements need to be made. With good luck that will be next week, but Im counting on 3 to 4 weeks, because of the fact that I dont have a direct connection to the internet yet...

Currently Im busy with MSNPlugin.java, and have been looking for a good way to download files with Java. The best way seems to be using the new NIO classes (which was what I expected). It seems to be a bit faster then the traditional IO classes. For the coming week I will try to get information from the downloaded html document, like license information (we don't want to break the rules) and form information. Well because I was on a holiday, I hadn't time to do anything with the project so there will be no update this week (which was expectable). Currently Im also busy with trying to get an internet connection to my computer, so I will be able to use the cvs system. Also I will be busy with perfectioning the plugins (yet no real progress can be made because I haven't got a connection to my computer)

Well tomorrow I will be on holiday for about 5 days with my father,mother and little sister. Also I've released the FIRST weekly release (cool huh).

Version 0.1 will have the following structure:

This is my first open source project which is based on a simple thing: one time registration for multiple instant messengers :D. For the coming week (1 July - 7July) I will look at how to implement the system, Im thinking of an class that loads classes that implement an interface. This makes it easy to be extended by other developers that probably will enter this project when the first version has arived and which shows a good idea of the concept. The first version will have support for msn and icq and a test application. The first stable release will include all the commercial protocols and also some open source protocols (jabber for example). After 7 July I will be on a holiday for 5 days. And after the holiday I will continu the project and probably begin with implementing the protocols.
