User and author for SiDocRe are the same person.
Authors usually have an user account and they add their own documents in first person.
You can search by author using advanced search option.
Administrators have to add an user for each author.
I developped an other project for library (books) management (derivated from SiDocRe), in this project users and authors are different people.
