I think it would be a good idea to drop the version number from the directory. It's sorta redundant (there is version.txt and the zip archive is already tagged like that) and it adds one extra step if you update.

No keep the version ... it is easier to track it and easier to implement it in a project. And also this way i don't have to think abouth the caches all over the world
