Move project away from sourceforge

As SF now enforces all projects to use a drive-by installer for Windows [1], I strongly recommend you to move the project to another site, e.G. Github.

Hi folks,
We do not enforce you all having to use the DevShare program. This program is totally optional to you. Period.
If you do not want to participate, you are golden - nothing changes.
Please let me know if you'd like to discuss. I'm happy to get on the phone or Skype even if that would help.
Best regards,

I would also vote for using GitHub. It makes collaboration much easier, has a great wiki, issue tracker and community.
If you would like a hand migrating the project, I am happy to help.
1) SF doesn't add any additional installer to 7-Zip.
2) I suppose GitHub doesn't like to host binaries.
So I'll use SF.
Sorry for being late, but since GitHub offers binary hosting since quite some time, do you might reconsider moving to it now? :)
Do you know any project with such binary files at github?
I want to look such example.
https://github.com/neo-project/neo-gui/releases
Are there any drawbacks for these github features?
And are there any projects with high download count that use github for binaries?
I cannot think of any drawbacks, but then I don't know what features you enjoy about SourceForge. GitHub has a decent issue tracker, admin features, wiki, and a good community... But mostly it doesn't have the lack of trust that SourceForge has earned itself.
This project sees more downloads than neo-gui: https://github.com/gitextensions/gitextensions/releases
They attach binaries to releases, and that's their sole download source. Actually if you Google for "git extensions" this releases page is the first hit (for me at least).
I would definitely encourage you to migrate to GitHub! I run several open source projects there and have no reservations about using it.
Thanks to @Timo and @Drew Noakes for their assistance as I wasn't able to reply sooner.
@Igor: so, after all these benefits, did we succeed in encouraging your switch to GitHub?
If you need further details or help setting up the repository, please let me/us know. I'd love to see 7-Zip on GitHub soon. :)
So what about forum?
Is github good for such things?

Forum is done via "Issues" and used for bug reporting, enhancements/feature requests, suggestions, etc.
Also, it can be used for questions by labeling such entries with a "question" label.
Though, more FAQ-like questions would go into the "Wiki" area for documentation/how-to purposes.
Have a look at https://github.com/oleg-shilo/wixsharp/issues for bugs/enhancements/etc. and https://github.com/oleg-shilo/wixsharp/wiki for Wiki-related stuff as an example.
I'll look github later.
Ok, thank you in advance! :)
Please do. It would be great!
Any news on "later"? Is "until Xmas 2018" possible? :)
Igor, move 7z to Github! please :)
Hello Igor - any thoughts on this so far?
Just in case you need to get a bit more motivation to move to Github: If you also set up an automated build process using e.g. AppVeyor, we (SignPath.io) would get you a free code signing certificate to have 7-zip installers digitally signed.
Hope to hear from you again on this issue, would love to see 7-zip on Github!
Dear @ipavlov: I would like an official organization and repository by product too, to have a better development and contributions.
I think it is very important to do it quickly, we are in 2021, soon in 2022.
More 10 years since the request.
Thanks in advance.
