Unfortunately this seems to happen with some older 7-Zip archives. I have found that files compressed with 7-Zip 2.30 Beta 21 and greater seem to decompress OK with the latest version.

If an archive was compressed with an older version (before 2.30) and absolute paths, the new versions show an empty archive. So you can't decompress anything out of this archive.

This program bites, I can't open ANY 7z file unless I compressed it, some program this piece of junk is.

Can you give me example of such incompatibility?

I've fixed it. So next version will extract
c:\something to
c\something
So... 7-Zip dosn't suck anymore? ;)
