I just downloaded and installed 7zip. When I try to extract a file (*.rar file), a box pops up that asks for a Password. Where or how do I find out about this password? There is nothing that I have read that tells me where or how this password was generated. How do I get this program to run?

I know this is really late - but..... The "password" box that shows up is for the zip'd|rar'd|7z'd|gz'd file. This has NOTHING to do with 7z itself. SOMEONE ELSE put a password on that particular file and it is up to YOU to go find out WHO did this, WHY they did this, and HOW to get rid of it( or put it in).

So how did you solve the problem? I can't unzip my file because 7-zip keeps asking me for a password!!! What password????
