version 9.20 x64 does... try right clicking on .msi and pick Repair? It disappered on me quite a few times in Win 7 and I had to do that to bring it back.

I have the same problem. It happens both with 9.20 x64 stable and 15.07 beta x64 under win 10 pro x64. The funny thing i've noticed is that it sometimes shows the menu incorrectly. If I select a *.suo file (visual studio 2012 solution preferences file) then it will somehow think it is an archive file and display the menu, but of course, the extract function will fail because it is not an archive.

I just found out what was causing it in my case.

I was using version 9.20 x64 (and even tried 15.07 x64 beta) on Windows 10 Pro x64 and it kept happening even though I tried uninstalling/reinstalling multiple times.

I believe the issue was caused by my regional settings. I live in Spain and even though my system's language is English, my location and my regional settings are set to Spanish (Spain), and so is the default language for non-unicode apps; and I cannot change these values due to some other reasons. It turns out i had installed 7zip without the localization options since I like everything to be in english anyway, but the program appears to be looking for the spanish language resources which were unavailable and thus the context menu was not showing any options under it.

    What I did was:
    1) Uninstall 7-zip
    2) Delete all 7-zip entries from the registry.
    3) Redownload the 64bit version of choice.
    4) Make sure that the installer file is "unblocked" before installing (browsers add some metadata to the exe to flag it as non-trusted).
    5) Run the installer as administrator.
    6) Reinstall with ALL the options checked.

Now it works fine. I changed the language through the interface and the menus took a while to switch back to English but eventually everything was sorted out.
