Cities3D 0.9 is now available for download. All rules of Cities & Knights are now completed, including all progress cards, even the latest edition of the German rules that has the new Saboteur card (called the Arsonist in Cities3D). In addition, Cities3D 0.9 has a few more options, notably the ability to alter any of the decks of cards in the game (development, trade, politics, or science) to your liking. It also has simple game finding, allowing you to find games, connect, and play with other people around the world, including joining games already in progress as a spectator. You can even fill in for someone who drops from a game! Follow the links on the Cities3D Project Homepage<http://mirror1.cvsdude.com/trac/saladyears/Cities3D>to see Release Notes, download the new version, and learn how to report bugs: *NOTE:* You must uninstall any previous version of Cities3D, including removing player and game databases. If you don't do this, Cities3D 0.9 will crash on startup. *IMPORTANT:* If you receive an error that says, "This application could not start because the configuration is not correct. Reinstalling the application could solve the problem", then you need to install the Visual C++ run-time package (2.6 MB) from Microsoft. Use this link<http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=32bc1bee-a3f9-4c13-9c99-220b62a191ee&DisplayLang=en>to download and install the run-time. Now that all rules for the game are completed, the focus will be on additional features and options (like Volcanoes and Jungles) and a final push for zero bugs at version 1.0. Planned features for 1.0 include full Unicode support, game replays, game tutorials with narration (including the ability to make your own), more skins, usability improvements, and more. |
