I'll throw in my change from a different point of view. A lot of people pay for a shell, and are allowed to run an IRCd, and one services package. For the most part, the company will check to make sure you are only running 2 proccesses on your shell. Sometimes they'll allow 3-4 proccesses. Either way though, for those people who aren't running the IRCd's on their own boxes, their service providers usually (from my experiences) limit the number of seperate proccesses they can run. So, by running each module as a seperate processes, it's potentially limiting the number of people that can run these services... Anyways.. That's just a thought... |
