The first beta of the 1.0 release of the Service Availability Tester is now tagged in the Subversion repository.
The 1.0 release represents a drastic change in the architecture of the Service Availability Tester. Notable changes include the use of JMX (the implementation provided by MX4J) for live configuration management and event handling. Additionally, the proprietary scheduler has been replaced with the superior Quartz job scheduler. Finally, while the core of the Service Availability Tester is still platform independent, provisions have been made for allowing the Service Availability Tester to be run as a persistent daemon on select platforms and CPU architectures.... read more
