#10 Selecting "Insert spaces for tabs" causes problems

After I selected "Insert spaces for tabs" from the JSP
preferences pages I received an error message
stating "Error notifying a preference change listner.
Check log for details error message". Select OK and
leave the properties window. After that I am unable to
open a JSP file. I receive an error message that
states "Unable to create part:"

Restarting eclipse has no effect. The only resolution is
to uncheck "Insert spaces for tabs".

Attached is the stack trace. It shows a
ClassCastException on the startTabConversion method.
