I have a Thinkpad T20, everytime I try to install any flavour of linux it tries to load the kernel but gets to the below message and then goes no further... I eventually found that Debian (woody) network install CD seems to install fine, and would operate wih no problems until I upgraded to the current kernel version 2.4.22, now it tries to again load the kernel, gets to the below message and then hangs, stoopidly I didn't create a boot floppy to boot from my previous kernel version... BOOT ERROR MESSAGE Serial driver version 5.05c (2001-07-08) with MANY_PORTS SHARE_IRQ SERIAL_PCI ISAPNP enabled PCI: Found IRQ 7 for device 00:03.1 PCI: Sharing IRQ 7 with 00:03.0 Redundant entry in serial pci_table. I believe it is the Xircom 56k Win Global (modem) that is causing the problem... ...I do however, after several reboots and several changes to bios settings manage to boot with the new kernel, but on a subsequent reboot suffer with the same problem... I managad to get a an lspci -vv output and a dmesg output which I have included. Please help my cause, I don't want a do$e laptop... Many thanks aki;) ak...@d-...
